The Hiwatt Pedalsmith is based on the legendary DR504 which has been heard on records by bands such as The Who, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd since the circuit’s conception in the 1970s, as well as modern artists like IDLES and Russian Circles. Using the original two channel Normal/Brilliant design and High/Low inputs, but married to modern conveniences like a quiet, distortion-free effects loop and internally jumped inputs, it’s now even easier to find those classic guitar tones, as well as creating your own…

The Pedalsmith is the successor of the original high headroom, high output pedal platform able to handle any combination of pedals you throw at it. The unique Hiwatt preamp and tone stack compresses and distorts much later than its contemporaries, so boosts and overdrives will actually boost your signal output instead of turning into mush.

Both the 30 and 50 come with ‘oversized’ transformers for extra low end and output before reaching saturation.The Pedalsmith 30 comes with 6V6 tubes chosen for 30 watts of power and low end compared to the market standard of 20 watts, while the Pedalsmith 50 uses the original EL34s usually found in the DR504 for 50 watts of maximum clarity and headroom.
